CGC Event Caterers is seeking a Lead Events and Banqueting Coordinator to oversee operations at our prestigious venue. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of both corporate and social events, maintaining the highest standards of service and hospitality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the management team to guarantee that all non-race day functions are meticulously organized and executed.
  • Oversee retail, conference, and banqueting events as designated by the head of Food & Beverage.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Food & Beverage and sales team to ensure adequate scheduling of the management team for each event.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for events, ensuring compliance during all functions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all front-of-house and back-of-house areas for events.
  • Operate within the financial parameters set by the Head of Food & Beverage to meet established targets.
  • Manage till operations, cash floats, reporting, and reconciliation following events.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and billing for all events.
  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding process for event service staff.
  • Enforce company policies regarding cash handling and associated procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety standards, pursuing necessary training for specialized areas.
  • Coordinate with various departments to facilitate the seamless execution of events, upholding the venue's high standards.
  • Analyze market trends to innovate and enhance service offerings.
  • Collaborate with the head chef to refine both retail and event catering options.
  • Provide targeted training to the management team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in banqueting management.
  • Proven experience in an event-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to make critical decisions.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks as required.
  • Hands-on approach with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Proficient in IT applications.
  • A strong desire for professional growth and development.
  • Possession of a personal license.
  • Level 2 Food Safety certification.
