We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a Consultant Psychiatrist for Learning Disabilities, you will be responsible for providing specialist community psychiatric care to individuals with intellectual disabilities residing in Pembrokeshire.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Health Board's service plans.
- Contribute to the Consultant on-call rota and maintain the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty or the Health Board.
- Provide leadership and team building skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting and training staff to deliver high-quality care.
- Develop and implement clinical pathways and guidelines to improve patient outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
- Participate in clinical audit and provide evidence-based medicine to inform service development and improvement.
- Supervise and support junior and middle-grade medical staff, promoting their professional development and well-being.
- Engage in teaching and training activities, including acting as an examiner and supporting research activities in a partner university faculty and school.

Requirements- On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT due
- CESR or equivalent European Qualifications for Specialist Registration
- Broad-based experience in psychiatry across the range of sub-specialties, with knowledge of UK hospital systems and participation in CPD
- Expertise in the treatment of mental disorders in people with learning disabilities and safe and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Meet the requirements of the GMC's Good Medical Practice
