About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and ambitious DB Actuarial Consultant to join our team at GB035 Mercer (UK) Limited. As a consultant, you will have the opportunity to work with clients on both Scheme Actuary and Corporate appointments in the mid-market segment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with cutting-edge actuarial advice and collaborate with a team to develop and deliver customised advice and solutions.
  • Work with trustees and/or corporates on DB pensions within an actuarial consultancy role.
  • Lead on delivering actuarial advice at client meetings and presentations.
  • Utilise strong technical actuarial skills to consult with clients and communicate with them in a clear and succinct manner.
  • Act as final technical reviewer for actuarial calculations and provide peer review support.
  • Agree the strategy, direction, and resourcing for client work.
  • Support Client Relationship Managers in all aspects of service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries with a strong understanding of and experience with UK defined benefit pension schemes.
  • Experience of developing skills towards attainment of, or having obtained, a Scheme Actuary certificate.
  • Awareness of current pension issues and their impact on clients, as well as the ability to tailor your response to specific circumstances.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong analytical and numerical abilities, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.
