We are seeking an experienced and organized Cover Manager to oversee all aspects of teacher absence, ensuring high-quality cover and minimal disruption to students' learning.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily cover: Organize short- and long-term cover for absent teachers, ensuring lessons are adequately covered with appropriate work set. This includes liaising with Heads of Department and handling last-minute cover requests.
- Administer the cover system: Oversee the cover system in line with the school's policies, booking supply teachers, maintaining records, and managing the cover budget efficiently.
- Team leadership: Lead and manage a team of Cover Supervisors, providing guidance, support, and performance management, ensuring consistency and quality across the team.
- Supervision and training: Observe cover supervisors during lessons, offering feedback and arranging training where necessary. Ensure new cover staff and supply teachers receive proper induction and monitor their classroom effectiveness.
- Classroom cover: Step in to supervise lessons when needed, maintaining classroom order, managing student behavior, and keeping students on task in the absence of their regular teacher.
This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, with experience in managing staff and ensuring effective lesson coverage. If you thrive in a dynamic school environment and have a proactive approach to problem-solving, we'd love to hear from you.
