Role Summary

We are seeking a Financial Assistant to join our Finance team. This position will primarily focus on supporting the daily financial operations of Leep Utilities. The role encompasses both transactional and management accounting responsibilities. Key duties include managing accounts payable and treasury functions, as well as assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, finance board reports, cash flow statements, quarterly VAT returns, and year-end audit documentation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conducting income statement analysis and reporting, including variance analysis against budget.
  • Performing reconciliations and analysis of accruals and prepayments.
  • Executing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly finance packs for management review.
  • Supporting the year-end audit process.
  • Preparing statutory accounts and financial statements reporting packages.
  • Providing assistance to the broader Finance team with various ad hoc tasks.
  • Contributing to the preparation of internal and external reporting requirements, including VAT and Corporation Tax.
  • Collaborating with the Transactional team to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Currently pursuing or holding professional accounting qualifications (AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Possession of Maths and English GCSE qualifications.
  • Experience with accounting software (Exchequer experience is advantageous).
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Strong numerical aptitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
