About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Modeller to join our dynamic Water Resources team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality hydraulic and water quality models to assist in the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes and conduct Flood Risk Assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model Development: Develop and check hydraulic models to assist in the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes and conduct Flood Risk Assessments.
  • Leadership: Lead and input into tenders for innovative projects and multimillion-pound framework contracts. Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all outputs meet the required standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaboration: Build relationships with other employees across technical disciplines and work closely with clients to deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software, such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller, and/or TUFLOW.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments and basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and associated regulatory standards for fresh waters.
  • Professional Qualifications: Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar.
  • Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of scripting programmes such as Python, Anaconda, or Ruby would be advantageous.
