Key Responsibilities- Maintain a high level of childcare practice in line with the aims and objectives of Willows Devon Ltd.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people, ensuring their rights and needs are met as fully as possible.
- Carry out duties in line with Willows Devon Ltd's Policies and Procedures, promoting good relationships between the organization and other professional and supporting agencies.
- Encourage and support contact between young people and their families and significant others, promoting education and personal development.
- Accompany young people on outdoor activities and holidays, promoting a responsible attitude towards the environment and property.
- Support young people in domestic, animal, and environmental activities, maintaining high levels of cleanliness and adhering to Health and Safety guidelines.
- Carry out household duties, shopping, cleaning, cooking, and maintaining the household and outdoor areas in a safe manner.
- Maintain regular, high-quality recording systems for each young person, providing reports as required.
- Accept responsibility for monies and undertake administrative duties as necessary.
- Report all matters of concern to the Manager, dealing with telephone enquiries in a professional manner.
- Participate in regular supervision sessions and performance appraisals, maintaining case file records and being aware of fire prevention regulations.
- Be a member of a team of residential childcare workers, attending team and staff meetings as required, and participating in general activities of the establishment.
- Provide a positive working role model for colleagues and young people, demonstrating sensitivity and assertiveness in a pressurized environment.
- Carry out duties in a mature and responsible manner, seeking and receiving support as necessary, and working within any of Willows Devon Ltd's houses as required.
- Physically intervene if a young person's behavior is dangerous to others or themselves, in accordance with procedural guidance.
- Undertake driving duties, sleep-in duties, and any other duties as may be required and directed by the Managers.
- Undertake training as required.
- Driver essential, with a valid manual driving license and over 21 years old for car insurance purposes.
- Computer literate and good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a pressurized environment, demonstrating sensitivity and assertiveness.
- Willingness to undertake training and development opportunities.
