Job Opportunity: Research Assistant in Healthy Ageing

The University of Manchester is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the Healthy Ageing Research Theme within the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for Greater Manchester (NIHR ARC GM). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic research team focused on improving the health and wellbeing of older adults in Greater Manchester.

About the Role

As a Research Assistant, you will work closely with Professor Chris Todd, the NIHR ARC GM Healthy Ageing Theme Lead, and the research team to conduct literature searches, apply for research governance approvals, and undertake mixed-methods research. You will also contribute to writing up and disseminating study findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct literature searches and apply for research governance approvals
  • Undertake mixed-methods research, including qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis
  • Contribute to writing up and disseminating study findings
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a degree in a related field of study and have experience of conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research. Excellent organisational skills are essential, with the ability to manage and prioritise different and conflicting workloads, whilst meeting deadlines without close supervision.
