Job Overview

As a key member of the Quality team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the site's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Technical Manager as required, providing leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Lead the internal audit programme, ensuring a robust and effective schedule of audits that identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure all standards in the company's HACCP and Quality Systems are adhered to, and all documentation is correctly completed and up-to-date.
  • Site lead for documents control, ensuring that all documentation is properly managed and maintained.
  • Stay up-to-date with current regulations pertinent to the business, ensuring that regulatory changes are reflected in the documentation.
  • Raise, review, and close out non-conformances, ensuring that all issues are properly addressed and resolved.
  • Conduct risk assessments on processes, aligning business need with quality requirements.
  • Approve and review raw materials and suppliers, ensuring that all suppliers meet the required standards.
  • Lead by example and encourage Good Manufacturing & Hygiene practices throughout the site.
  • Participate in all quality meetings, including HACCP reviews.
  • Assist with all external audits, including BRC, customer, and EHO.
  • Manage own continued professional development, participating in internal and external training as directed.

  • Tenacious character, liaising with colleagues to obtain and chase up information required.
  • Team player, working with a cross-functional team to deliver benefits to the Business.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting internal deadlines and the ability to problem-solve.
  • Internal audit experience essential, with the ability to identify improvements and implement them.
  • Well-versed with the BRC food safety standard.

Key Performance Measurement

  • Relevant 3rd Party Accreditation (e.g., BRC)
  • Compliance with QMS requirements
  • Implementation of internal audits (QMS, GMP, Hygiene, H&S)
