Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate, assess, and manage design drawings in the highways, drainage, and infrastructure domains using AutoCAD and Civils 3D software.
  • Offer technical assistance to fellow technicians and engineers within the design team.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, local authorities, and contractors.
  • Conduct inspections, surveys, and prepare comprehensive reports while supervising project sites.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in technical aspects.
  • Oversee small-scale projects or specific project components as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on drawings to ensure precision and thoroughness.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the design team's technical capabilities.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Possess a relevant engineering or CAD qualification
  • Significant experience in a civil engineering design consultancy
  • Proficient in producing horizontal and vertical highways designs and civil engineering designs using software such as Civil 3D, AutoTrack, and MicroDrainage
  • Strong self-motivation and initiative, capable of working independently while managing the technical approval process
  • Familiarity with highway planning procedures, including Section 38/278 Agreements, and UK design principles and standards
  • Knowledge of procedures related to Traffic Regulation Orders and Road Safety Audits
  • Understanding of drainage adoption procedures and relevant UK design principles and standards
  • Experience in client interaction and collaboration with professional teams, demonstrating strong communication skills
  • Good financial and commercial awareness
  • Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
