Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom Black Tree Gaming Limited Full time
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Manager to join our team at Black Tree Gaming Limited, the owner of Nexus Mods, one of the largest gaming websites online. As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for interacting with and looking after the Nexus Mods community, understanding their needs and wants, and representing the company in all spheres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embody the spirit and ethos of Nexus Mods, acting as a point of contact for users across our forums, Discord, social media, and support platforms.
  • Help expand the reach of Nexus Mods by communicating with mod authors from games we do not currently support, helping them bring their mods to Nexus Mods.
  • Provide the "community perspective" when working together with the Design, Web, or Vortex teams on projects, to help steer the development of our platform.
  • Own and manage aspects of our site-wide policy and communications, acting as a main point of contact for our volunteer moderators.
  • Manage and coordinate our moderation team, ensuring they continue to do a good job, providing them support when needed, and helping to find and recruit new members to the team as and when necessary.
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written (English).
  • The ability to remain calm and impartial even when people in the community are being unfair or unreasonable, maintaining a professional demeanor throughout.
  • Working with large communities and having extensive moderation experience.
  • Understanding of current social and geopolitical issues.
  • Detail-oriented and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone and take ownership over decision-making.
  • Solid conflict resolution skills as you will often be dealing with conflicting perspectives.
Benefits
  • Salary: Between £25,000 - £50,000 depending on your experience level.
  • 25 days holiday a year, plus an additional holiday day after you have worked in the company for 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years.
  • 3 days off each week.
  • An allowance of 25 Euros each month to spend on video games.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Private BUPA healthcare for option for you and your family.
  • We will provide high-spec hardware for you to work on in the office, and to take home.
About Us

Black Tree Gaming Limited is a computer game-loving collaborative team solving large-scale challenges with the latest technology. We have supported our community by paying out $7,000,000 to creators since 2018 and donating around $200,000 to charity. Our mission is to make modding games as easy as possible.

We celebrate diversity and want you to bring your whole self to work. We undertake Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging training to be more aware of diverse views and our own biases to make sure we don't leave anyone feeling unheard or left behind.

Everyone is welcome.
