Job Title: Advanced Clinical Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Gastroenterology Care Group as a Clinical Nutrition Specialist. The successful candidate will provide specialist support and management to patients receiving total parenteral nutrition and assessment for and management of those receiving enteral tube feeding.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Nutrition Nurse Service and contribute to service development.
  • Attend the Feeding Issue MDT and provide specialist advice and support.
  • Support patients who are receiving enteral and parenteral nutrition in hospital and provide education and training to staff.
  • Develop and implement nutritional programmes of care and provide regular outpatient clinics for nutrition support.
  • Work with the transition team to ensure safe and smooth transition of paediatric patients into adult services.
  • Collaborate with the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to support and enhance the skills and training of their Nutrition Nurses.
  • Ensure the Intestinal Failure National register is maintained and updated on a regular basis.
Requirements:
  • Clinical Professional Qualification with registration.
  • MSc Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
  • Teaching and assessing qualification.
  • Relevant post-registration qualification or equivalent.
  • Prescriber qualification.
  • Evidence of participation in audit and research.
Desirable Skills:
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Basic IT skills, including email and word processing.
