GSL Education is currently in search of a Special Needs Support Assistant to join our network of educational institutions. This position operates on a flexible 0-hour contract, providing you the autonomy to work according to your availability. In this role, you will collaborate with the classroom teacher to facilitate lessons, work alongside a dedicated team of support staff, and provide individualized assistance to students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of educational activities tailored to the needs of students.
- Support the classroom teacher in managing the learning environment.
- Engage with students on a one-to-one basis to enhance their learning experience.
To excel in this position, it is beneficial if you possess:
- Experience in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with learning challenges, including ADHD, SEMH, and ASC.
- A solid understanding of Special Educational Needs or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
- The ability to foster engagement and support students' social, emotional, and personal development.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Supportive and enthusiastic.
- Resilient and optimistic.
- Confident in managing challenging behaviors.
Requirements to work with GSL Education as a Special Needs Support Assistant:
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
- A DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
