Lead Electronic Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electronic Design Engineer to join our team in Chard, Somerset. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of our next-generation products, working closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.

About the Role:

  • Lead the design of electronic systems and circuits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with our engineering teams to develop and implement design solutions that meet customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and design teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Significant knowledge and experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading design work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Commercial experience, including negotiation techniques, supply chain management, and customer relationship development.
  • Expertise in embedded and power electronic design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation using Altium Designer.
  • Ability to diagnose and mitigate EMC/EMI problems.
  • Experience with consumer products, power electronics, portable devices, and power tools.
