Job Title: Librarian: Service Delivery Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Librarian: Service Delivery Specialist to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a key member of our library team, you will be responsible for delivering a responsive library service that increases citizen engagement with the service through supporting the city with its information, reading, and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and delivery of core programmes of activity outlined in the Annual Business Plan
  • Proactive approaches to keeping current customers engaged with the service and attracting new service users
  • Line management of the team of Team Librarians
  • Delivering programmes of activity across community libraries and central library
  • Management of staffing rotas in Leeds Central Library
  • Operational management of Leeds Central Library

Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant experience of public library work
  • Excellent understanding of, and passion for, the role of public libraries and community librarianship
  • Well-developed digital skills, confident using technology, and able to support and encourage customers to develop their skills
  • Committed to customer service excellence, able to deal positively with feedback and difficult situations, and to seek positive resolution
  • Excellent communication skills, listening, written, and verbal
  • Well-developed organisational skills and show excellent attention to detail
  • Highly motivated team player, able to both support and lead other team members
