Job Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading generator specialist in the UK. As an LGV Driver, you will play a crucial role in delivering and collecting generators and associated equipment for our busy Transport Department, supporting the needs of our Rental, Sales, and Service Departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and collect generators for hire and sales to and from customers' sites, using a variety of vehicles from our extensive fleet.
  • Load and offload generators and ancillary equipment in the yard and on customers' sites, ensuring equipment is located in line with customer requirements.
  • Start generators following delivery and inform customers of basic operations.
  • Connect generators and external fuel tanks, run up generators, and check for leaks.
  • Assist customers with running out and rolling up cables on site as required.
  • Deliver fuel to customers' sites using a fuel tanker or 4x4 and bowser as needed.
  • Check and secure equipment on the lorry, ensuring it agrees with relevant paperwork.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, including washing down sets in the yard as necessary.
  • Provide call-out cover for generator deliveries or collections, refuelling, or other emergency work requiring the use of a lorry or 4x4 on a rostered basis.
Requirements
  • LGV Licence (C+E) required.
  • Experience with equivalent vehicle types (rigid wagon with drawbar trailer rated to 44 tonnes, tractor unit with 45' flatbed trailer).
  • Digital Tachograph holder.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, with regular early starts and late finish times.
