About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Group FP&A Analyst to join our team at WHSmith Retail Holdings Limited. As a key member of our Finance function, you will play a critical role in supporting the broader Group Finance team on all financial planning activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Support the Group Head of FP&A in coordinating and delivering all Group budgeting and forecasting models for Board-level reporting.
  • Business Partnership: Liaise with divisional finance teams to ensure delivery of accurate and timely information and assist with analysis and reporting as required by the Group CFO to support and influence business decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Assist with enhancement, standardisation and automation of management reporting processes across the Group, with a view to delivering agile reporting, robust financial controls, data integrity and accuracy.
  • Investor Relations: Support the Investor Relations team with compiling analyst consensus data and producing ad hoc analysis.
  • Group Viability Model: Own the group viability model, including consolidation and analysis of the annual Budget and 3-year plan and measuring performance against funding requirements.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Support the Group Head of FP&A in ad hoc projects such as acquisition due diligence, EPS modelling, etc.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified up to 2 years PQE.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical skills and highly competent on Excel; able to manipulate and report complex financial data into insightful and reportable formats with automated processes.
  • Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic self-starter, ready to take on the steep learning curve presented by a FTSE-listed group function.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritise effectively, efficiently and achieve tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong communicator and excel at creating clear presentations, reports and financial analysis.
  • Experience: Experience of multi-currency consolidation.
  • Advantage: Experience of listed company reporting would be an advantage.
