Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Emponics, a leading property services company with over 75 years of experience. As a key member of our Response and Maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in driving commercial success and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Price materials and labour for repairs and maintenance workstreams, focusing on reducing costs and improving efficiencies.
  2. Be responsible for the financial and technical aspects of contracts, including procurement, invoicing, payments, cash flow, and cost control.
  3. Minimise costs, maximise value, and make a profit.
  4. Work with direct labour and subcontractors to ensure all work issued has labour targets to return agreed profit performance.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with the workforce, customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and our client.
  6. Procure materials, plant, and subcontracts in line with our systems/procedures and contract budgets.
  7. Produce monthly contract valuations of the unit's actual deliverables against the projected budget (CVRs).
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in a similar commercial or quantity surveying role.
  2. Some supervisory or mentoring experience.
  3. A proven ability to minimise cost and maximise value, profit, and cash flow.
  4. Strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills.
  5. Ability to process high volumes of data analysis.
  6. Experience in working with direct labour and subcontract procurement.
  7. Experience working on Schedule of Rates contracts is desirable, with the ability to price minor works from first principles.
