About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead our Portsmouth transport operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the transport operations team, ensuring that all activities are aligned with company objectives and policies.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of transport operations, including fleet management, route planning, and logistics coordination.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all transport operations are conducted in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, minimizing risk and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Team Development: Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, providing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of transport operations staff.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize transport operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience in transport operations management, with a strong background in logistics, transportation, and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of transport legislation, regulations, and industry standards, including health and safety, security, and environmental requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Education: Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
