Position: Marine Lifting Systems Technician

Location: Portsmouth

Compensation: Up to £44,300 based on expertise and experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections, maintenance, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of marine lifts and associated lifting systems.
  • Implement safe working practices in accordance with company SHE protocols at all times.
  • Utilize your expertise to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues and performance challenges.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Offer mentorship and technical advice to less experienced staff members.
  • Engage with clients and regulatory bodies through written communication, phone calls, or in-person meetings to address technical concerns.
  • Assist the broader Marine Systems Teams in their efforts to maintain operational efficiency and produce detailed technical reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in lifting systems.
  • Proficient in conducting thorough inspections, maintenance, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of marine lifts and lifting devices.
  • Strong technical knowledge and extensive experience with mechanical systems, particularly lifting appliances and lifts, including maintenance and inspection regulations.
  • Proven track record in the maintenance and inspection of marine lift systems, with a commitment to staying updated on technological advancements.
  • Capable of performing scheduled maintenance, thorough inspections, fault diagnosis, and defect resolution.
  • Qualified at NVQ levels 3 and 4 to support inspection and maintenance tasks.

About the Test and Commissioning Team:

This team is responsible for the inspection and maintenance of lifts and lifting appliances on board various naval vessels, ensuring that all work meets established standards and is executed in a cost-effective and professional manner.
