Position: Marine Lifting Systems Engineer

Location: Portsmouth

Compensation: Up to £44,300 based on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections, maintenance, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of marine lifts and associated lifting systems.
  • Implement safe working practices that adhere to company SHE protocols at all times.
  • Utilize your expertise to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues and performance-related faults.
  • Work independently while providing technical advice and support to fellow engineers.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in their professional development.
  • Engage with clients and regulatory bodies through various communication methods to address technical concerns.
  • Collaborate with the broader Marine Systems Teams to enhance operational efficiency and produce detailed technical reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in lifting operations.
  • Expertise in inspections, maintenance, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of marine lifts and lifting equipment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly lifting appliances, including maintenance practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining marine lift systems and a commitment to staying updated on technological advancements.
  • Ability to perform scheduled maintenance, thorough inspections, fault diagnosis, and defect resolution.
  • Qualifications at NVQ levels 3 and 4 to support inspection and maintenance tasks.

This team is responsible for the inspection and maintenance of lifts and lifting appliances on board various naval vessels, ensuring that all work meets established standards and is executed in an efficient and professional manner.
