About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Bidwell Brook School, a Special School for children and young people with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students as part of a class team to enable them to access learning opportunities and achieve their full potential.
  • Help deliver pre-planned learning, care, and therapy programmes in an inspiring learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the class team to provide a child-centered curriculum.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans.
  • Provide emotional support and care to students with complex needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and be resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence using IT systems and software.
  • Positive attitude, empathy, and a willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Working Arrangements

  • Monday to Friday, 30 hours and 40 minutes per week.
  • Three days per week, 12 hours or 18 hours per week (pro rata for part-time).
  • Term-time working, 39 weeks per year.
