About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Team Lead to join our operations team at DP World. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and results-driven individual to lead a team of operatives and contribute to the success of our warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Deliver daily briefings to the team to ensure everyone is aware of their responsibilities and objectives.
- Manage and maintain staff training and upskilling documentation, and ensure accurate records of training completed and training to be conducted.
- Maintain and monitor safe working practices and adhere to safe working methods and countermeasures implemented.
- Drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering high-quality products to customers.
- Understand and analyze throughput rates to support customer requirements and drive business growth.
- Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing processes and apply 5S methodology to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Operate visual delivery tracking systems to ensure commodity status is visible at all times.
- Participate in the follow-up of customer concerns, assess root causes, and support corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
- Report on throughput, improvement, and people requirements within given time parameters.
- Provide comprehensive reporting on KPIs and SLAs performance, both visually and verbally.
- Maintain the highest 5S standard and ensure the use of customer-owned PPS processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading a team or supervising staff on shifts.
- Understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies.
- Prior experience in working within a busy, fast-paced warehouse/logistics/supply chain environment.
- Problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and IT skills.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, WMS, and SAP systems.
- Experience in a Tier 1 operation is beneficial (JIT, Sequencing, Packing, Delivery).
