The Role

We are seeking a Corporate Ratings Analyst to join our team in Manchester. As a Corporate Ratings Analyst, you will be responsible for providing credit ratings and research to our clients in the corporate sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior team colleagues with corporate credit analysis for public and private ratings and credit opinions
  • Interact with corporate debt issuers and rating advisors, where needed, reach out to other corporate sector teams, such as Leveraged Finance on high-yield bonds or leveraged loan transactions
  • Present and discuss your rating recommendations, ideas, and facts effectively in writing and verbally to a rating committee
  • Deliver quality outputs to internal and external parties within deadlines
  • Use effective questioning and listening skills in internal credit discussions and those with external constituents
  • Assist in producing thematic research reports
  • Support senior team colleagues in preparation of presentations to investors and prospect issuers
  • Demonstrate interest in keeping yourself up to date with market/industry developments and support senior team colleagues with response to credit events
  • Conduct work in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Be available to travel in the EMEA region, primarily in Western Europe
  • Contribute to a team spirit of intelligent and open discussion as well as of cooperation

Requirements

  • A background in corporate finance, bachelor's degree at minimum
  • Some relevant working experience in banking, financial services, or industry
  • A demonstrated understanding of and keen interest to deepen your understanding of corporate finance and credit analysis
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Cash flow modelling skills
  • Process and project management skills with ability to take ownership of projects to completion
  • Team work skills
  • Fluency in all forms of written and spoken English
  • Time management skills and ability to cope with tight deadlines
  • Reliability and integrity
