Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Lead Materials Engineer specializing in automotive surface materials to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine surface materials and technologies across various vehicle programs, ensuring readiness for concept and application.
  • Focus on the evolution of material concepts, emphasizing manufacturing methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Surface Material Integration team, leveraging diverse materials engineering expertise across multiple commodities.
  • Assess the production feasibility of both new and existing materials and manufacturing technologies.
  • Conduct color matching of materials during the manufacturing process and integrate them into component technologies.
  • Work efficiently with Materials Engineering and in-house laboratories to evaluate new materials, establishing new testing specifications as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of product design principles.
  • Excellent aesthetic judgment, color vision, and perception.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
