Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Lead Materials Engineer specializing in automotive surface materials to enhance our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine surface materials and technologies across various vehicle programs, ensuring readiness for concept and application.
- Focus on the evolution of material concepts, emphasizing manufacturing methods and technologies.
- Collaborate with the Surface Material Integration team, leveraging diverse materials engineering expertise across multiple commodities.
- Assess the production feasibility of both new and existing materials and manufacturing technologies.
- Conduct color matching of materials during the manufacturing process and integrate them into component technologies.
- Work efficiently with Materials Engineering and in-house laboratories to evaluate new materials, establishing new testing specifications as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of product design principles.
- Excellent aesthetic judgment, color vision, and perception.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
- Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
