Job Summary

The Aurora Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated Functional Life Skills Tutor to join our team at Aurora Foxes, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities.

About the Role

As a Functional Life Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering and evaluating inspiring, engaging, and individualized sessions of the highest quality that challenge and stretch every student in all areas of their Functional Skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional, inspiring, and engaging sessions that challenge and stretch every student, and in which all students are motivated and engaged throughout.
  • Ensure that all students receive professional, timely, and effective feedback, with appropriate strategies to improve their performance, and that such discussions are evidenced through effective and professional record keeping.
  • Prepare, direct, and lead Learning Support Practitioners within your session, and to actively promote a professional attitude and approach with the LSP.
  • Familiarize yourself with the principles of RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) and actively use them in your practice.
  • Ensure that all Risk Assessments are read, understood, and used to ensure the highest standards of student and staff welfare, health, and safety.
