Our SEMH School provides a nurturing environment where every student is empowered to succeed. Catering to students aged 11 – 16, we focus on those with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our mission is to deliver a comprehensive educational experience, emphasizing the unique requirements of each student to help them reach their utmost potential through a restorative approach to behavior.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Educator to engage with students throughout the school. This role involves working across various classes, providing general cover and support. You will benefit from the assistance of at least one, and sometimes two, teaching assistants in a class of six students.
Curriculum and Enrichment:
The KS3 Bases offer a diverse curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum. For KS4 students, we provide access to exam courses such as GCSEs, Arts Award, BTEC Sport, and Functional Skills. Additionally, we offer peripatetic instrument and music theory lessons, culminating in ABRSM grade examinations.
Enrichment activities include equine therapy, the John Muir Award at Rylands Farm, forest school, gym, football, trampolining, gymnastics, and outdoor education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are encouraged to apply.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to working with students with special educational needs.
- Design and implement exceptional teaching strategies to ensure a high-quality learning experience for all students.
- Demonstrate empathy, understanding, and adaptability in your teaching approach, ensuring that student progression is at the forefront of all lessons while fostering confidence in their development.
- Engage with students in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Exhibit patience and flexibility in your teaching style.
This is a full-time role, and we are looking for an educator who is interested in a permanent position.
