About the Role

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of internal audit services to support clients in achieving their strategic objectives. This will involve creating, leading, and delivering high-quality audit opinions to a wide range of client organizations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver client workplans efficiently, creating and managing an operational budget to ensure a professional service is delivered within agreed resources and financial constraints.
  • Sit on the AuditOne Senior Leadership Team, responsible for delivering business-wide projects and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with significant experience in leading internal audit services within the NHS or public sector.
  • Significant experience of working with audit methodology and techniques, including risk management, governance, and financial systems.
  • Experience of preparing and signing the annual Head of Internal Audit Opinion for a portfolio of clients.
  • Knowledge and experience of data analytics within an audit function.
  • Able to deliver engaging line management for direct reports and wider teams, including performance feedback, staff appraisals, and disciplinary procedures.

Communication and Engagement

  • Significant experience of acting as client engagement lead, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Experience of attending client committees, presenting high-quality assignments or presentations to large groups of staff.
  • Able to concentrate for predictable and unpredictable lengths of time, managing complex work and urgent requests for advice.
