Job Title: Area Retail Operations Manager - Midlands

Objective

The primary aim is to manage the execution of corporate policies and operational standards across a specified area of company-owned retail stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations for both employees and customers.
  • Oversee public relations communications with external stakeholders.
  • Perform fuel audits to ensure accuracy in transactions and security measures.
  • Analyze and enhance station operations to achieve optimal productivity.
  • Directly supervise Contract Managers and evaluate team performance.
  • Track fuel pricing to enhance profit margins.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement effective promotional strategies and merchandising.
  • Achieve budgetary goals while addressing customer feedback and concerns.
  • Coordinate with contractors regarding maintenance and repair issues.

Scope of Role

Financial:
Responsible for managing operating expenses, retail income, fuel revenue, and ancillary service income.

Staff:
Each station is managed by a Contract Manager along with a team of approximately eight staff members.

Work Environment

The role operates within a highly competitive landscape, primarily influenced by supermarket chains and major oil corporations.

Framework & Guidelines:
Ensure that all Contract Managers comply with established agreements.

Organizational Structure:
Guarantee adherence to Contract Manager agreements.

Communication

Subordinates:
Motivate and guide Contract Managers through performance evaluations and audits.

Superiors:
Maintain regular communication with the Regional Manager for strategic direction.

External Contacts:
Engage with suppliers, partners, and relevant authorities.

Challenges

  • Foster positive relationships with Contract Managers and staff members.
