About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Caretaker - Cleaning and Maintenance Professional to join our team at Capita. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our custody areas, supporting the site manager in general maintenance activities, and providing routine maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of custody areas to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Operate specialist equipment and chemicals to clean and maintain facilities, including vacuuming, mopping, and using floor machines.
  • Support the site manager in planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure compliance and day-to-day running of the site.
  • Provide routine maintenance and repairs, including minor construction work, to ensure satisfactory upkeep of police properties.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Effective planning and prioritization skills to manage daily cleaning tasks and maintenance activities.
  • Reasonable level of fitness to perform the physical demands of the role.
  • Experience in a similar cleaning or caretaking role is desirable but not essential.
