Advanced Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our community service, providing input to patients with a range of conditions including progressive neurological diseases, stroke, and dementia.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will work closely with experienced SLTs, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and primary care colleagues in an outpatient and community setting. You will be responsible for caseload management of patients referred to the service and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions to achieve agreed goals.
Opportunities exist to contribute to service development and explore new ways of working. We run a Multidisciplinary Parkinson's Disease Clinic for early diagnosis, with the support of an on-site Consultant Geriatrician and Nurse specialist. We also offer Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT- Loud) and encourage upskilling in this area.
You will be encouraged to develop skills in videofluoroscopy and FEES and participate in a variety of continuing professional development activities. The team has close working relationships with other community and hospital teams.

Person SpecificationThis role requires a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist with experience working with patients with communication and swallowing difficulties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of national policies and procedures and be able to develop and deliver training programs related to specialist fields.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent analytical and presentation skills. They will also have a commitment to continuing professional development and be able to contribute to clinical education of less experienced staff.
