About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in South Shields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with challenging behavior and SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Manage challenging behavior in a positive and consistent manner
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Have a 'hands-on' approach to supporting children in their learning, with a willingness to interact with pupils and engage with them
  • Work with Class Teachers and other Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils receive the best possible educational experience
Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfill their potential and flourish in education
  • An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils
