Purpose of Role:

To ensure the safe and efficient management of critical mechanical isolations as an Authorized Person, controlling activities and programmes of works.

Manage isolations, overseeing trade contractors while work is being carried out to remove redundant equipment, liaise with on-site teams to plan works in a coherent and controlled manner.

Assist in monitoring systems to ensure they are fully operational, including witnessing re-commissioning, snagging, and handover of systems back to the BAU team after partial removal.

Monitor QHSE works during task performance.

Ensure project works are completed in line with health and safety policy and standards, attending relevant programme and project management meetings.

Monitor installation and removal of systems, aid the client in supplying data and information as required, and ensure the safe system of works is used for all project works.

Review RAMs for project activities within non-demised areas, considering business impact, risk, and engineering system resilience with multiple work fronts taking place simultaneously.

Advise the client on issues influencing their decisions during works, ensuring alignment of works between Project and BAU activities, and producing reports as required.

Identify issues requiring attention to the Project Integration Technical Manager and assist in preparing documentation for the client's change control system.

Ensure the project team follows the agreed contract code of practice and site rules, escalating as required, and provide escort to technical areas when necessary.

Assist in preparing and executing shutdowns.

Accountabilities:
  • Operate within agreed operational and/or management guidelines.
  • Maintain effective internal and external client or user relationships within own area of responsibility.
  • Deliver health and safety policy and standards.
  • Apply high-level technical skills across a range of functional or business activities.
  • Optimise performance.

Experience in managing critical environments and core life-safe infrastructure, including undertaking critical isolations as Authorized Person for Mechanical Systems.

Demonstrate a good understanding and technical competence in all building services, particularly UPS's, transfer switches, PLC systems, critical cooling systems, water treatment, refrigeration systems, and HV/LV electrical infrastructure.

Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance and project activities.
