Position Overview:
Atlantis Medical Ltd is seeking dedicated and skilled Band 6 Midwives to become integral members of our Elective Caesarean Section Team. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive support to women throughout their elective caesarean section journey. Our organization is recognized as one of the largest providers of maternity services in London, characterized by a collaborative and dynamic workforce committed to delivering exceptional care to women and their families.
Role Responsibilities:
This clinical position involves caring for women in various stages: pre-operative, during theatre, and post-operative care. The Elective Team is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Elective list, typically scheduled Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday sessions. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting pre-operative assessments and providing essential education to patients.
- Managing appropriate blood tests and ensuring all necessary preparations are completed.
- Recovering patients post-operatively, showcasing expertise in enhanced recovery techniques, breastfeeding support, and wound care management.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to make necessary referrals and escalate concerns as needed.
Our midwives will receive support from practice leaders, PMAs, and the PDM team to enhance their skills and confidence as they advance in their midwifery careers.
Work Schedule:
This role requires availability for day shifts.
Qualifications:
- Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
- Demonstrated experience in midwifery practice.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative efforts.
- Strong communication skills, ensuring clarity and understanding in both written and verbal interactions.
- Empathetic engagement with clients regarding treatments and procedures.
- Enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly demeanor, promoting a positive atmosphere.
- Awareness of personal Knowledge and Skills Framework, with a commitment to identifying learning needs and participating in professional development.
- Effective time management skills, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Proficient in utilizing midwifery skills across various settings, participating in health promotion initiatives, and accurately documenting patient assessments.
