Position Overview
This role is client-facing, requiring the successful candidate to collaborate with senior members of the private client tax division. You will manage a diverse portfolio, providing precise tax returns and expert advice to affluent individuals, their families, and trusts, particularly those with international considerations. Building robust client relationships and staying abreast of legislative changes will be central to your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing a client portfolio throughout the annual tax assurance cycle.
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns for accuracy.
- Offering tailored advice on personal tax matters.
- Conducting legislative research and delivering technical insights on various tax issues, including income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
- Managing billing and work-in-progress effectively.
- Collaborating with the broader Private Client Team to uncover additional advisory opportunities.
- Mentoring junior team members by delegating tasks, reviewing their work, and fostering their professional growth.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will:

- Have a solid understanding of risk management principles.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant should hold a CTA or ATT qualification and be in the process of completing their CTA or have equivalent experience.
Prior experience in managing a personal tax assurance portfolio and reviewing tax returns is essential. Experience with clients who have international affairs is preferred but not mandatory, including familiarity with the Statutory Residence Test, Double Tax Treaties, domicile considerations, and relevant disclosures for motive defense exemptions.
