We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team at Spring Hill Medical Centre. As a key member of our nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and record patient measurements, including height, weight, urinalysis, blood pressure, and ECGs.
- Provide childhood immunisations and travel advice, as well as undertake cervical screening and fit/remove vaginal ring pessaries.
- Support patients with smoking cessation and undertake new patient checks, including height, weight, blood pressure, and alcohol and smoking history.
- Conduct contraception reviews, including pill checks and administration of Depo-Provera, and provide advice on and review ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
- Perform 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and review results, as well as basic dressings and wound reviews.
- Support the provision of Long Term Condition reviews, including Diabetes, Asthma, and COPD, and participate in the flu vaccination programme.
- Undertake NHS health checks and document all findings in patients' records, reporting any abnormal findings or changes in a patient's observations.
- Support the emergency management of patients, including providing basic life support if required, and act as a chaperone if needed.
- Provide health promotion advice and be able to recognise and manage anaphylaxis, as well as perform basic life support.
- Escalate/referral of patients to other members of the team/GP when required, and have an understanding of and be able to support in the requirements for QOF.
- Full Covid-19 vaccination status and ability to evidence this.
- Computer and telephone literacy, with experience of EMIS preferred but training can be provided.
- Experience of working in General Practice would be preferred, and a clear DBS is required.
- NMC registration and ability to provide high-quality care in line with practice policies and national guidance.
This is a part-time position, working 20 hours over 2 days, with the possibility of working across both Spring Hill Medical Centre and Galley Common Medical Centre sites. The successful candidate will be eligible to join the NHS pension scheme and will be fully supported in their position.
