Trainee Underwriting Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Underwriting Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate level candidate to develop a career within the Lloyd's insurance market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extracting client data from broker systems
  • Analysing client data using database reporting and bespoke analytical tools to assist with pricing
  • Contract data entry
  • Liaising externally with the broking community
  • Carrying out day-to-day administration in support of the underwriters
  • Frequent exposure monitoring and reporting
  • Calculation of loss estimates from both real and theoretical events from current, past and future contracts written by the company
  • Catastrophe modelling and data analysis to support reinsurance purchase
  • Ad hoc project work as required

Requirements:

  • Previous exposure to the insurance world is highly preferred
  • A level maths and some coding experience (SQL, R, VBA) would be highly beneficial
