About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Advisor to join our team at South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAMB). As a Health Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for patients calling our 111 service, providing vital support and guidance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide empathetic and effective communication to patients, addressing their concerns and needs.
  • Use the NHS Pathways system to assess and respond to a wide range of situations, from minor illnesses to life-threatening emergencies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless patient care and support.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and carers to provide ongoing support and guidance.

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications) at Grade C or above (2018 Grade 4).
  • Previous experience working and communicating with the public, with a strong ability to build rapport and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to work in a computer-based role.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently, with a high level of personal commitment to facilitate the delivery of a patient-focused service.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £24,071 - £25,674 with the earning potential of up to £28,000 per annum.

Training and Development

We will provide full training in a warm, friendly environment in our NHS 111 Call Centre. Our comprehensive training programme includes:

  • 9 weeks of training, including classroom, observing, and mentoring periods.
  • Full-time training for part-time applicants, with a 'must' attend policy and no annual leave permitted during this period.
