About the Role:
Avara Foods is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and restaurants. We're looking for a highly competent and motivated Site Services and Compliance Manager to join our Engineering Team at our Brackleysite.
The role is factory and office based, with a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Site Services and Compliance Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a team of up to 9 engineering personnel, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of up to 9 engineering personnel across various disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including LOLER and pressure vessels.
- Maintain and update compliance documentation.
- Manage facilities projects, including engineering stores and procurement.
- Ensure the infrastructure of the site is well-maintained and in good condition.
- Manage D jobs on SPIDEX for fabrication, glass, and plastic, as well as health and safety issues.
- Site responsible person for HSB insurance compliance.
- Site responsible person for waste management and ISO 14001.
- Lead on ISO 14001 site insurance visits.
- Legionella responsible person for site.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of ancillary functions, including water treatment and boilers.
- Boiler House Manager for the site.
- Contractor Management.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Lead for engineering Technical Action Tracker.
- Identify training needs and develop the team.
- Review data on equipment efficiency and coordinate inclusion of jobs on weekend or daily plans.
- Effective communication and collaboration with other colleagues.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
Requirements:
- HNC certification or Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering.
- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- 6+ years of engineering experience.
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
- Interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Proven planning expertise.
- Proven strengths in building strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Dynamic approach to each day.
- Experience in Engineering Compliance.
- Food manufacturing experience.
- Experience managing projects.
