We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school in Newham. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with students aged 11-16 who have a range of special educational needs, providing academic and emotional support in and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students, including those with autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.
- Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them with learning activities and promoting independence.
- Implement individualised support plans, behaviour management strategies, and interventions as directed by the SENCO.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher and SENCO, ensuring each child's needs are met.
- Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
- A caring and patient attitude, with a strong ability to form positive relationships with students.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A relevant qualification in child care or special educational needs would be an advantage.
