Job Overview

RINA is currently recruiting for a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Lead to join its office in the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, assurance, condition assessment, and failure investigation for electrical plant assets such as transformers, generators, and switchgear.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • Craft consultancy proposals, including technical approaches and pricing, in conjunction with our commercial team.
  • Serve as Project and Technical Lead, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering consultancy projects.
  • Mentor and develop the technical and consulting skills of less experienced team members.
  • Represent RINA at seminars and conferences to maintain our leadership in industry developments.
  • Enhance RINA's service offerings in Asset Integrity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2:1 bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related STEM subject (BEng, MEng, MSc, or PhD). A postgraduate degree and Chartered Engineer status are desirable.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise in at least one, and proficiency in at least two of the following: transformers, generators, switchgear. Expertise in at least one and proficiency in at least two of the following: asset design/assurance, condition assessment, failure investigation.
  • Consultancy Experience: Proven track record of delivering engineering consultancy projects on time and within budget, with strong client relationship management skills.
  • Business Development Skills: Experience in winning engineering consultancy projects and knowledge of the petrochemical and/or renewable energy sector stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent report writing skills, producing high-quality, objective, and concise technical consultancy reports.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel worldwide (10-25% of the time) and work on-site (10-15% of the time) for project delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in tasking and supervising project team members.
  • Safety and Professionalism: Safe and professional use of lab equipment.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience with the digitisation of Asset Integrity consultancy, such as predictive health, condition monitoring, and client user-interfaces.
