Everest People Solutions is on the lookout for a seasoned Lead Financial Strategist to become a vital part of the financial team within a prestigious catering butcher organization.

This esteemed company, with a legacy spanning over a century, provides high-quality meat products throughout the East Midlands and beyond, catering to a diverse clientele that includes hotels, restaurants, pubs, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and food service providers.

In the role of Lead Financial Strategist, you will be responsible for steering and managing the financial department, ensuring all financial operations run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the finance team, stepping in for critical business functions as needed.
  • Provide backup for the Finance Administrator.
  • Supervise Purchase Ledger operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts for both the company and its parent organization.
  • Generate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
  • Oversee payroll functions with complete accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with legal payroll requirements.
  • Manage adjustments for taxation, social security, and other employee benefits within the payroll system.
  • Execute year-end payroll processes.
  • Supply legally mandated payroll information to relevant external entities.
  • Administer the company’s pension scheme and its associated deductions.
  • Collect outstanding debts in accordance with the company’s credit policies.
  • Maintain a comprehensive audit trail for credit control activities.
  • Ensure the sales ledger accurately reflects sales accounts.
  • Timely allocate cash receipts to the appropriate sales ledger accounts.
  • Complete trade references and evaluate risk for both new and existing clients.
  • Manage legal aspects of debt recovery as necessary.
  • Handle various account types, including monthly, weekly, and cash on delivery accounts.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card transactions.
  • Collaborate with the Food Safety Manager to support traceability documentation.
  • Complete government statistical reporting as required.
Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess flexibility, accuracy, confidence, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A solid understanding of Excel is essential.

  • In-depth knowledge of Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger processes.
  • Proven experience in managing a finance team and similar roles is crucial.
