Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Palliative Medicine Specialist to join our team at Weldmar Hospicecare. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with life-limiting illnesses.

Main Duties

As a Palliative Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive medical care to patients with palliative needs
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conducting regular assessments and reviews to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families
  • Participating in on-call rota to provide cover for the inpatient unit
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Completion of four years full-time postgraduate training or equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis
  • At least two years of experience in a specialty training program
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Working Arrangements

This is a part-time position, working 3 days per week (Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays) from 9am to 5pm. You will be based in our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester, with occasional work in outpatient or community settings.
