**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Optical Assistant to join our team at our Birmingham store. As an Optical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our Optical department.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist members in selecting the right product to meet their lens prescription needs.
  • Measure members for pupillary distance using a pupilometer and observe the line of sight to determine bifocal placement.
  • Verify contact lenses and completed eyeglasses against prescription prior to dispensing to members, fitting and adjusting as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely ordering to meet customer demand.
  • Ensure the Optical department is clean and organized at all times, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise apprentices as required.

**Requirements**

  • Preferred: Licensed Optician experience.
  • Experience working in an Optical department.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in IT systems.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
