Assistant Store Manager Job Description

As an Assistant Store Manager at Aldi UK, you will play a vital role in helping to run a multi-million pound store, while motivating and developing a diverse and talented team.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the Store Manager with tasks such as sorting out deliveries, placing orders, and dealing with customer queries. You will also be focused on people management and performance, as well as organising holiday rotas for the team.

Key to your success will be your ability to maximise sales in your store, ensure great customer service, minimise costs, and optimise operational efficiency. This will require strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store
  • Lead and motivate a team of retail staff to deliver excellent customer service
  • Organise and manage holiday rotas for the team
  • Maximise sales and revenue in the store
  • Minimise costs and optimise operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a retail environment, preferably in a management role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and results-driven

  • A competitive salary of up to £43,440*
  • Flexible 40 or 45-hour contracts, with the option to work a 40-hour contract over 4 days
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 5 weeks after 2 years
