Main Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will involve:
- Preparing financial statements and reports to a high standard.
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including quarterly VAT returns and prepayments.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT Returns and bookkeeping records.
- Completing accounting and adjustment journals, and assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Providing support and assistance with year-end statutory accounts and financial planning.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Preparing and inputting accruals, prepayments, and other journals.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and reconciling fixed asset additions/disposals.
- Liaising with other departments and managing expectations.
- Preparing financial reports to agreed internal deadlines to a high standard.
- Ensuring all client queries are appropriately responded to.
- Client meetings and staff supervision.
Requirements:
- Experience with accounting software, including IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a good command of English.
- Prior experience in a practice accounts environment.
- AAT Level 4 or above qualification.
