Main Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will involve:

  • Preparing financial statements and reports to a high standard.
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including quarterly VAT returns and prepayments.
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT Returns and bookkeeping records.
  • Completing accounting and adjustment journals, and assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Providing support and assistance with year-end statutory accounts and financial planning.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing and inputting accruals, prepayments, and other journals.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and reconciling fixed asset additions/disposals.
  • Liaising with other departments and managing expectations.
  • Preparing financial reports to agreed internal deadlines to a high standard.
  • Ensuring all client queries are appropriately responded to.
  • Client meetings and staff supervision.

Requirements:

  • Experience with accounting software, including IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a good command of English.
  • Prior experience in a practice accounts environment.
  • AAT Level 4 or above qualification.
