Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Leeds
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a Counterbalance Forklift to ensure efficient and safe movement of materials within the warehouse.
  • Responsible for all loading and unloading of plant, equipment, and materials.
  • Prepare, maintain, and clean equipment, using a pressure washer where required, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Verify that orders are accurate and complete before dispatch to customers.
  • Ensure plant and equipment are stored and stacked correctly and safely to prevent damage and injury.
  • Complete and record required equipment checks and inspections, both periodically and prior to dispatch, to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  • Accurately record inward and outward stock movements on a daily basis to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Inspect equipment for any damage or defects in accordance with quality control standards.
  • Complete accurate stock checks as directed, reporting any discrepancies to the Depot Operations Manager.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area, ensuring all equipment and consumables are stored in the appropriate manner.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment.
  • Counterbalance Forklift license highly desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Physically able to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
Working Conditions:
  • The role is based in a busy yard environment with regular exposure to the outdoors.
  • The role requires frequent lifting, bending, and manual handling.
  • The role may involve working at heights using ladders and stairs.
