About the Role:

Datasource is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead HV Plant Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of high-voltage plant and substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership on the FEED and detail design workstream for Transmission and Distribution clients.
  • Ensure adequate quality assurance and delivery of FEED, detailed design, and bids.
  • Ensure adequate resources and training of resources for the purposes of delivering FEED and detailed design work.
  • Review the HV plant aspects of different projects including HV layouts, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations, and technical specifications for the HV plant equipment.
  • Coordinate with engineers, sub-contractors, and suppliers as required.
  • Manage tender packages as tender manager and handle HV plant aspects of technical offers.
  • Attend and chair design review and hazard review meetings, reviewing HV plant design packages.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Strong understanding and leadership of engineering projects through asset lifecycles.
  • Track record of leading teams in the delivery of FEED or detailed design of EHV (132kV upwards) substation projects.
  • Experience in a leadership/management position in a similar environment, including coaching/mentoring junior engineers.
