About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Specialist to join our team at Cypartners. As a key member of our strategic programme, you will play a critical role in leading data analysis, managing vital datasets, and shaping the bioinformatics infrastructure.

With access to cutting-edge high-performance computing (HPC) and advanced IT facilities, you will have the opportunity to empower researchers globally, driving breakthroughs in genomics and genetics. You will work closely with a diverse team of bioinformaticians, biologists, and software engineers, driving innovative solutions to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Critical Data Analysis: You will lead the assembly, annotation, and pan-genomic analysis to address critical questions in genomics and genetics.
  2. Manage Vital Datasets: You will be responsible for managing and maintaining large datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  3. Develop Bioinformatics Infrastructure: You will develop and enhance bioinformatics infrastructure to support robust and scalable research applications.
  4. Provide Expert Training and Mentorship: You will provide expert training and mentorship to junior bioinformaticians, PhD students, and early career scientists, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. PhD in Bioinformatics or a Related Field: You must hold a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, or a closely related field.
  2. Proven Expertise in Genome Assembly and Annotation: You must have proven expertise in genome assembly, annotation, and pan-genomics, as well as transcriptome analysis of complex experiments.
  3. Proficiency in Statistical Analysis and Scripting: You must be proficient in statistical analysis and scripting with strong skills in R, Python, and Bash.
