Role Overview
As a vital member of the Design Engineering Team, you will contribute to the comprehensive Product Design Process by generating System Design Engineering Documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer-provided documentation to capture requirements.
- Create Design Documentation for initial Systems Requirements Reviews, which includes:
- Design Specifications
- System Architectural Diagrams
- Initial Project Plans encompassing Development Plans, Verification Plans, and Safety Plans
- Collaborate with relevant departments to compile proposals and cost estimates.
- Generate Bills of Materials using the company’s ERP system.
- Produce Design Proving and Compliance Documentation, including:
- Factory Acceptance Test Documents
- Design Proving Documentation
- Conduct Environmental and EMC Design Proving and Qualification at Testing Facilities (may involve some domestic travel).
- Compile final Compliance Matrix and Qualification Test Reports.
- Engage in liaison with customers and suppliers.
Core Requirements
- A degree in Electronics or a related field is preferred; however, an HND (or equivalent) with relevant experience may be acceptable.
- Proven experience in Electromechanical Design/Engineering.
- Capability to comprehend and articulate technical challenges.
- Strong IT skills, along with proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in system engineering for small to medium-sized development projects.
- Familiarity with essential project management administrative skills (e.g., Gantt charts).
Desirable Skills
Experience with Solidworks, ALTIUM, and DOORS is advantageous.
